Lake Huites, located on the west coast of Mexico, is one of the most scenic lakes for a bass fisherman to enjoy. It is nestled within the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains. Lake Huites was formed in 1993 by the Mexican government. Being stocked with Florida Strain Largemouth Bass has made the lake a truly amazing place where trophy fish can be caught. An explosion of bass size is due to the warm year-round growing season, the clear, pure mountain waters, the tremendous food base of tilapia, threadfin shad, crawfish, and blue gill perch. Also, the fact that it is located in a remote area, there is not a great amount of fishing pressure.

Lake Huites was opened to the public in October, 1997. With just about any type of lure a bass fisherman desires to throw will result in a daily catch of 80 to 100 bass per day per boat. The bass usually range in weights of 4-15 pounds.

Lake Huites is believed to be one of the best lakes to catch a good number of quality black bass. In a very few years when the American bass fisherman has found out about it, this lake could be one of the most famous lakes for successful black bass fishing. It will be a household word with every American fisherman. If you missed out on fishing some of Mexico’s other great lakes during their prime, you certainly do not want to miss this great opportunity to fish at one of the finest lakes.
